This is a new group. You're joining at the very start, while it's small. Joe, who runs Balance, is in the group from day one.
Later groups
Each group has 10 spaces. Once a group is full, new members join a later group scheduled to start on a Sunday. We'll tell you your scheduled start date.
Membership costs £19 a month, charged immediately when you sign up and renewed monthly until you cancel, including while you're waiting for your group to start. You can cancel any time.

Why join?
People to share it with.
Skip the long explanation
Who have you told? How did they react? Share the everyday questions with people starting, taking or coming off a GLP-1, without having to explain it all from scratch.
Something real to talk about
Meals out. Family comments. Comparing your progress with other people's posts. Fresh questions give everyone a way into the conversation, so you don't always have to be the one to start it.
Become familiar, not anonymous
Only 10 spaces per group. A small enough circle to get to know each other, with Joe overseeing moderation and clear group rules.
Peer support.
Not medical care.
This group is for adults at different stages: starting, currently taking or coming off a GLP-1. Share everyday experiences, not treatment instructions. It does not tell you whether a medicine or symptom is safe for you.
- No medical or dosing advice.
- Decisions about starting, stopping, tapering or changing a dose belong with your prescriber, not the group.
- Questions about treatment and side effects belong with your pharmacist or prescribing clinician.
- This is not a crisis or emergency service.
Know what
you're joining.
The £19-per-month group is separate from Balance's blood-test programme. It does not include blood tests, clinical care or nutritionist appointments.
Other WhatsApp members can see your phone number and messages. Membership and messages may reveal health information. The group will start without an AI participant. Read the group privacy notice below, including how to withdraw participation consent.
Before joining
What does membership cost?
£19 per person per month, charged automatically each month until cancelled. Membership is ongoing with no minimum term. Cancel to stop your next renewal; access continues until your paid month ends. If you withdraw group participation consent and leave the group, access ends and future renewals stop. After your first 14 days, we refund the unused part of your paid month. The full-refund rule within your first 14 days is unchanged. You can request a full refund within your first 14 days. Only 10 spaces per group.
Who is the group for?
Adults aged 18 or over who are starting a GLP-1, currently taking one or coming off. Different stages are welcome. This is a place to compare everyday experiences, not to recommend medication or plan how to start, stop or change treatment. Speak with your prescriber about those decisions.
When does it start?
The founding group is open now. Join today - no waiting for a start date. After payment and participation consent, Joe adds you personally, normally the same day.
Will there be an AI in the group?
Not at launch. This starts as a peer group, with Joe overseeing moderation. Any later AI feature would be explained separately, including what it could read and how information would be handled, before it was introduced.
Is this a medical support service?
No. It is peer conversation, not a substitute for a clinician. There are no promises about weight loss, preventing regain or health outcomes. The group does not advise on starting, stopping, tapering or dosing. Your prescriber should guide treatment decisions, including coming off.
Know the steps
before you pay.
- Read the membership terms and group privacy information. The final service arrangements and how your information is used must be clear before joining.
- Review your monthly payment. The intended price is £19 per month.
- After payment and participation consent, Joe adds you personally, normally the same day.

Without a long tie-in.

Ongoing membership, charged monthly until cancelled. There is no minimum term. This group is separate from the Balance blood-test programme.
Cancel the next renewal
Email joe@joinbalance.co to cancel before your next renewal. Your access continues until your paid month ends unless you withdraw group participation consent and leave the group. In that case access ends, future renewals stop and, after your first 14 days, we refund the unused part of your paid month.
First 14 days
You can request a full refund within your first 14 days.
Leaving a WhatsApp group does not by itself stop billing. Email joe@joinbalance.co to cancel, request a refund or withdraw participation consent. The full-refund rule within your first 14 days is unchanged.
Group privacy
Who is responsible
Joseph Wilkinson, trading as Balance, is responsible for the member information used to run the group. Contact joe@joinbalance.co with privacy questions, to leave or to withdraw participation consent.
What we use and who can see it
We use your contact details, payment status and joining record to manage membership. Other members can see your phone number and messages. Membership and messages may reveal health information. We will ask for your explicit consent to this health-related group participation before adding you. It is separate from marketing consent. Do not share other people's messages outside the group.
This is peer conversation, not confidential clinical care. No AI participant is included at launch. WhatsApp provides the messaging service, and Stripe handles payment details. Balance cannot erase copies or screenshots kept by other members.
Why we use information
We rely on contract for the contact and payment administration needed to provide your membership, and legal obligation for required tax records. For your health-related participation and the disclosure of your membership and messages to other members, we rely on your explicit consent. You do not need to provide medicine doses, test results or a detailed health history to join.
Services and international processing
Joe and the other members see group information. WhatsApp supplies messaging; Stripe processes payments; Google Workspace/Gmail handles support and consent replies. These providers may process information outside the UK under their own privacy terms and transfer arrangements. We will not claim everything stays in the UK. No AI receives group messages at launch. No health information or member list is to be used for advertising audiences.
Keeping and deleting records
We do not export or routinely archive group conversations. We delete unnecessary copies of health discussions under Balance's control when no longer needed. We review and delete routine group administration records within 30 days after membership ends, unless a specific dispute requires a limited record. We keep only the payment, consent and legal records genuinely needed, separately and on a documented schedule.
We remove departed members promptly. We keep the exact consent statement, notice version, response, date and withdrawal record while relying on that consent; we review it on withdrawal and keep only evidence needed for a specific complaint or legal claim. We review any retained dispute record at least every six months and delete it when the reason ends. We keep tax sales/expense records for at least five years after the 31 January filing deadline for the relevant tax year, as HMRC requires for self-employment. Financial records should not include chat content or unnecessary medication details.
Leaving or withdrawing consent
Email joe@joinbalance.co to withdraw group participation consent. Joe will arrange removal and record cancellation so no further renewal is collected. If you withdraw consent to participate, we will stop adding you to group activity and arrange your removal. If you withdraw consent and we remove you from the group, we stop future renewals. Within your first 14 days you can request a full refund. After your first 14 days, we refund the unused part of your paid month when withdrawal ends your participation. Your statutory rights are unchanged. We will not retain your group access merely because your paid month has time left.
Your rights and complaints
Email joe@joinbalance.co to ask for a copy of your information, correct it, request deletion, restrict use or withdraw consent. Other rights, including portability or objection, depend on the use and lawful basis. We will explain any lawful reason we cannot carry out a request in full. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
SEPARATE PARTICIPATION CONSENT
To be requested before a member is added, separately from marketing consent:
"I explicitly agree to participate in this health-related WhatsApp peer group and to my phone number, membership and messages being visible to its other members, as explained in the group privacy notice. I understand I can withdraw by emailing joe@joinbalance.co."
Email updates list
If you leave your email to hear about future Balance GLP-1 group places, Joseph Wilkinson, trading as Balance, stores your email address, your consent choice, the time you joined the list and the form you used. Our list provider is Brevo, which stores our mailing data within the European Union (its own servers in France and Germany, and Google Cloud in Belgium). When you use our sign-up forms, Brevo also automatically collects technical data such as your IP address and browser and device information under its own privacy policy (brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy). We use your email only to email you about Balance GLP-1 group places, from joe@joinbalance.co, based on your explicit consent. Being on this list may suggest an interest in medically supported weight loss, so we treat it with the same care as health information.
You can withdraw at any time by replying to any update email or emailing joe@joinbalance.co. We then stop emailing you about the group and keep your email address on a do-not-contact record for this list only, so we do not email you about it by mistake; your other Balance emails are not affected. We review these records every 12 months and delete them when no longer needed.
We review this list every 12 months from when you join and remove you no later than 13 months after you joined, deleting your record where this list is the only reason we hold your email. If you ask us to delete your details: where this list is the only reason we hold your email, we delete your record from our mailing system, keeping only the do-not-contact record above; where it is also held for another reason, we remove you from this list, and our provider's activity history and the record kept for that other reason may still show that you were once on this list. Deleting a record removes its details and history from our mailing account; our provider's own backups and logs expire on their own schedule.
You can ask for a copy, correction or deletion of your details at any time via joe@joinbalance.co. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
